Featured San Francisco Project

AlfaTech provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design for the new Mabel Mattos Elementary School which is in a residential neighborhood in Milpitas and serves 800 Prek-5 students. The new school is being built as a center for “22nd century learning” with classrooms referred to as learning communities that support 96 to 120 students with four to five teachers leading a grade level. Phase 2 of this project encompassed three (3) new two-story buildings, classrooms C, D and E as well as a multi- purpose/kitchen in building F and 30’x40’ lunch canopy. Services included HVAC, plumbing including site gas piping, electrical limited to power, lighting, site lighting and path of travel, fire alarm, clock paging system and IT data cabling and Title 24 for the MEP systems. Twelvemonth Restaurant Burlingame, CA

AlfaTech provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, lighting engineering design, and LEED services for the tenant improvement for a new high-end restaurant. The single-story 10,000 SF project includes a community garden, a newly landscaped courtyard, a potential rain catchment system, and an on-site photovoltaic array. The interior of the building will be fully renovated, along with a structural upgrade and new MEP systems serving the new restaurant. Interior program spaces and lighting design includes new indoor dining areas and sunroom, outdoor seating and dining areas, front and back of house cooking and food prep areas, support spaces, greenhouse, daytime bakery area, and new restrooms. Lighting design work included new dimming controls, automatic daylight sensing at perimeter windows, and areas with skylight. A 46-KW system of photovoltaic panels on the roof, incorporating the latest in microinverter technology. Special features include all-electric food equipment to minimize fossil fuel consumption. All-electric food service equipment to reduce fossil fuel consumption by the building accounts for about one-quarter of the

AlfaTech also provided electrical engineering services for eight (8) 24’x40’ interim classroom portables

State’s annual greenhouse gas emissions. The project will finish by February 2022.
