ENERGY MODEL ING & L I FECYCLE COST (LCC) ANALYSES

Day Lighting Systems • Sidelight Glazing • Toplight Glazing • Photocontrols for illuminance levels • Photocontrol regulation of day lit area(s) Interior Lighting Systems • High efficiency lamps • Efficient ballasts • Occupancy sensors • Lumen maintenance controls • Improved lighting design Day Lighting Systems • HVAC Systems • High efficiency water-cooled chiller and cooling tower designs • Use of Smardt chillers with turbo core’s multiple magnetic bearing and oil-free compressor for low load condition • Use of hybrid heat-pump/heat-recovery chiller in place of pony chillers for low load condition • Reduce reheat by means of exterior fan-coil unit with ECM motor and variable floor versus VAV with reheat AlfaTech has a strong background in project related conservation design in energy analysis, energy reports with payback analysis, lighting technologies, and use of variable frequency drives to control HVAC equipment and systems. Some of the systems we focus on include: Day Lighting systems, Interior Lighting systems, and energy efficient HVAC systems.

Through a whole building energy modeling analysis we provide recommendations for Net Zero strategies and enhancing the core and shell MEP systems, including:

This is a 3-story office building of approximately 90,000 SF. The project consists of offices, kitchen and dining, and various supporting spaces. AlfaTech has performed a whole building energy analysis by using IES-VE 2019, which offers dynamic thermal and energy calculations at a highly detailed level. This study analyzes the energy performance for Peter Pan Building F, comparing annual energy use and energy cost for the building with each of the HVAC system design scenarios specified in the report. This report also includes an analysis on PV systems by estimating potential electricity generation from PV systems and the total amount of parking lot area suitable for hosting PV systems for each HVAC system scenario.

• Eliminating gas-fire equipment (boilers and kitchen equipment) • Reducing reheat by means of perimeter highly efficient hybrid 2/4 pipe fan-coil system • Use water side economizer • Thermal storage

Following is sample of whole building energy modeling with various systems as described above.
