The firm provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the complete conversion of a skilled nursing facility portion of an acute care hospital into a psychiatric ward. The renovation consisted of a full-floor—5th floor—approximately 15,000 square feet. The changes required upgrades of local mechanical. electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems to accommodate the new function. Some minor modifications were required to be made to the hospital basic systems to satisfy OSHPD requirements. The project was plan checked and inspected by OSHPD with completion in 2008.

This project entailed a 20,000-square-foot addition to an existing skilled nursing facility in Fresno, California. The 50-bed facility also includes a large rehabilitation gym. Although an addition, the project is completely independent in terms of engineered systems. The new addition is now served by two packaged rooftop air-conditioning units with appropriate filtration, a new hot water reheat system complete with redundant space heating systems, emergency power outlets at each bed, a new generator for the addition and back feed to existing facilities, and medical gas systems. This project was submitted to OSHPD for approval.
