The firm performed site surveys and prepared required documentation for the identification of possible Legionelle colonies to be sampled by a testing agency. Facilities included in this study were the Hospital Tower, 1900 Mowry building, Mobil Surgery Unit, Cooling Tower, Laundry and Central Plant facilities and the Washington West building.

The firm worked on several projects for Mission Oaks Hospital: conversion of a pain clinic to a breast center; an isolation room system study; and a sterilizer room study. Isolation room mechanical and electrical systems were surveyed for OSHPD-compliance and a report was submitted that documented findings and recommended improvements. The firm also evaluated sterilizer systems against current code requirements. The final report contained information about existing system issues, equipment requirements, and the necessary mechanical and electrical system modifications.

NATIVIDAD MEDICAL CENTER Salinas, CA

The firm has completed numerous projects for Dominican Hospital. The two largest were renovations to a clinical lab and addition of a new acute care rehabilitation center, which included renovating adjacent patient rooms. The fume exhaust and air handling systems were upgraded, and provision was made for an improved gas supply system.

Feasibility study to provide 3 options: (1) PV’s on parking canopies only, yielding only 30% (2.2 MW system) of the campus’ annual electric usage; (2) combination of building roofs and parking canopies (3.2 MW system); and (3) how much additional space required, and where, in order for the system to pay for 50% of the campus’ annual electric usage (3.4 MW system).

AlfaTech provided mechanical and electrical engineering design, including construction administration services for this new 1,500 bed, 1,000,000 SF secure treatment facility with over 40 buildings and construction budget of $300M.

The firm performed engineering design services for this new 4-story medical office building containing outpatient surgery and general services, CAT scanner, and doctors’ suites with individual examination and office areas.
