Last year we began working with LucasFilm on the early conceptual design for the Lucas Museum of Narra've Art while the client explored two possible loca'ons: San Francisco and Los Angeles. In January, the decision was made to develop this project in Los Angeles, and the client is working closely with AlfaTech’s Southern California and San Francisco team to bring this world class project to reality. The museum will be a state-of-the-art building and will be a showcase for all things narra've arts, and other Dreamworks related exhibit items. Including parking, the total gross square footage is es'mated to be 1,127,000 SF. The architect for the project is MAD, located in China. The local Architect of Record is Stantec. Paula Venegas, who is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional, led the charge to get AlfaTech’s San Francisco office registered with the City as a San Francisco Green Business. EASY BEING GREEN

This was no simple task. Following stringent requirements, this effort required modifica'ons to power supply throughout, and switching to supplies and food/beverages for those that are most sustainable. The final step was helping to retrain the office staff to follow the program. Paula is a Project Administrator located in our San Francisco office, and through her background in architecture, is passionate about sustainability.

Stay tuned for Green Tips from Paula.
