The Santa Clara SC9 Building project included full design and construction administration services necessary for construction of a new 50,000 SF raised floor data center facility with supporting spaces inside the existing 84,000 SF Savvis Building 12 space. The scope of work included meeting with Savvis personnel for programming of the spaces, and permitting with the City of Santa Clara. In general, the data center space supports approximately 120 watts per square foot gross area (6 MW total capacity) and is powered in 2 phases due to Silicon Valley Power source limitations. The project includes an N+1 design concept with chilled water and raised floor Computer Room Air Handling (CRAH) units providing the air conditioning. Electrical systems include exterior emergency power generation and UPS power systems.

AlfaTech provided overall design team project management as well as Acoustical, Architectural, Structural, Civil, Telecom and Communications, Paging systems, MEP, Fire Protection, Controls, Wind Study and Life Safety services for this confidential project. The overall plant includes new central and cooling plants.

HONEYWELL New Castle County, DE

AlfaTech completed design development documentation and design build specifications to support bidding of a data center design-build project within an office campus tenant improvement project. Innovative cold aisle containment design was described in bid documents by AT which ultimately was incorporated into final design.

This $17.5 M project entailed design of 60,000 SF corporate data center with raised floor air distribution for 125 watts per SF. Responsibilities included management for architectural, structural, civil and MEP, as well as lead mechanical/plumbing engineer.

NORZETTA DATA CENTER (CONFIDENT I AL ) Norway, Europe

JDSU Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, CO

AlfaTech provided comprehensive site selection and conceptual design as well as engineering design for this 140MW project in Norway for two major US corporations and two European companies. The project scope includes state-of- the-art MEP design and is projected to comply with 1.14 PUE.
