AlfaTech Mission Critical Big Book

RESUME

DIGITAL REALITY, Santa Clara, CA – TARGET LEED SILVER Principal-in-Charge for a two story raised floor data center space. The project includes addition of new generators, electrical rooms, and two floors of data center space. Mechanical design includes new Liebert DSE units, humidifiers, and make-up air units. Services provided include detail design layout of mechanical systems, LEED design, energy modeling, and lead construction management of mechanical design. EQUINIX SV5, San Jose, CA - TARGET LEED SILVER Overall design team project management and lead Mechanical Engineer for the new Greenfield $150M data center building adjacent to an existing data center. The project includes 18MW of total power supporting 14MW of critical power. The project included parallel path designs for 5,000 ton chilled water plan utilizing pre-package modular chiller solution and full air side economizer air handling solution and an alternate, proprietary, refrigerant-based cooling system. The company has elected to proceed with the proprietary HVAC system installation. CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT, Prineville, OR – LEED GOLD Overall design team project management and lead Mechanical Engineer for this data center project. Project involves the design and construction of four phases of tenant improvements of a new single story facility (with penthouse air handling equipment and outdoor standby diesel generators). This project recently achieved LEED Gold certification. CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT - Forest City, NC - TARGET LEED GOLD Overall design team project management and Mechanical Engineer of Record for this extremely energy efficient Data Center project. Services provided include MEP, Telecom and Communications, Architectural, Structural, Civil, Fire Protection, Controls, Wind Study, LEED Consulting, and Life Safety. This project represents the second data center site (in addition to the Prineville site in Oregon, which is also under AlfaTech project management and design). The client desires to achieve LEED Gold Certification for this building. CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT, Various Locations - LEED GOLD, TARGET LEED GOLD Overall design team project management and lead Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer of Record for nearly 2,500,000 SF and over 200 MW of extremely energy efficient, innovative data center facilities in Prineville, OR; Forest City, NC; Altoona, IA; and Lulea, Sweden. Services provided include MEP, Telecom and Communications, Architectural, Structural, Civil, Fire Protection, Controls, Wind Study, LEED Consulting, and Life Safety. Projects are all either targeting or have achieved LEED Gold certification.

CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT, Cupertino, CA MEP design team project manager and lead Mechanical Engineer for this design- build data center TI project within 350,000 SF of office space. Alfa Tech generated design development documents and design-build specifications as well as performed peer review of contractor design and installations. Project included innovative cold aisle containment system to reduce overall energy consumption. SAVVIS SC9, Santa Clara, CA Overall design team and project management for $60 million conversion from office to mission critical data center. Acted as the single-source of responsibility for leading architect, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers. Project included new utility services, emergency generators, 2,600 ton modular chiller plant with underground make-up water storage and above ground chilled water storage as well as other support systems for 50,000 SF or raised floor. VMWARE, Wenatchee, WA – LEED PLATINUM Mechanical and Plumbing peer review for LEED Platinum facility combining Mission Critical and laboratory test data center facilities. Scope of work includes acting as client liaison between internal IT engineering staff and design build contractor team as well as peer review of all technical aspects of project. CISCO SYSTEMS, Mountain View, CA – TARGET LEED SILVER MEPT design team project manager and lead Mechanical Engineer for expansion of existing raised floor enterprise data center space. The expansion includes addition of new generators and new electrical bus to support the additional critical load. Mechanical design includes new central plan chilled water system to replace the existing air cooled chillers. The new chilled water plant includes elevated chilled water temperatures (aligning with a retrofit of the existing data center spaces) and water side economizers to increase overall building energy performance.
