Complete remodel of the existing headquarters facility supporting approximately 400 employees. This project included full responsibility for replacing the cabling infrastructure, designing and managing the construction of their new 3,000 SF raised floor data center.

Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is a nonprofit, group-practice prepayment program serving the health care needs of 8.6 million members in 18 states. This project was necessary to expand the company’s Northern California information services facility. Based on a due diligence report, it was determined that both the HVAC and electrical systems were inadequate to handle loads imposed by a new computer-intensive environment. The program included a 6,000 SF expansion to the existing data center.

AlfaTech has provided project management and engineering design services for Sun Microsystems since 1996. This includes an 80,000 SF Workstation Training Center with a data center facility and office space.

PMC Sierra is a network chipmaker based in Burnaby, British Columbia. The firm was contracted to perform tenant improvement services for Tower 1, which required complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for five floors of a 12-story building. This included a data center and various labs. The data center was designed to operate 24/7 with dedicated HVAC, UPS and emergency generator back-up.

WORLD’S LARGEST SOFTWARE COMPANY Mountain View, CA

Complete design for a telecommunications facility which included computer facilities, office areas, a UPS system, back-up generator, pre-action fire sprinkler system, life-safety, ADA, structural analysis for all hanging loads and wall penetrations, and full tenant improvements build-out. Our involvement included meetings with the City Building Department and Fire Department, preparation of permit documents, approval by the City Design Review committee, coordination with the Building Engineer, Owner, and the building's consulting structural engineer, and coordination and approval of general contractor's work. Similar projects were designed in Santa Clara, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, CA.
