Singapore, Asia

San Francisco, CA

Type: Data Center, Office Size: 30,000 SF Data Center, 2,500 SF Offices

Type: Data Center Strategic Planning and Peer Review Size: 5,000 SF Server Room

AlfaTech provided Savvis with architectural space planning, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering and technology design services, and construction administration for this interior fit data center to respond to the increasing demands of Singaporean-based markets and telecommunications customers. This data center was designed to support approximately 4 MW of IT capacity in a roughly 30,000 SF floor plate. Also included in the project are ancillary office fit outs for approximately 2,500 SF, including interior design works.

AlfaTech was chosen to develop the strategic plan and program requirements, provide technical design peer review and to perform the server relocation into the new Data Center. We were engaged to develop a CDF Air Flow Model to validate the mechanical systems design. Responsibilities included developing and maintaining the project budget and project plan, and providing technical staff for this 5,000 SF Data Center.

RAYTHEON El Segundo, CA

Type : Data Center, Mixed Use Size : 7,000 SF Data Center / 350,000 SF Total

Type: Data Center Size: 4,000 SF

We provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for this campus project.

Raytheon selected AlfaTech to provide technology services to upgrade their existing 4,000 SF “Glass House” raised-floor data center by adding approximately 100 server racks at an average of 4kW per rack. This required upgrades to the existing 375kVA UPS, Generator, Mechanical, Fire Protection, BMS, Racks and Cabling systems. Per Raytheon’s request, AlfaTech prepared a Schematic-Level Design and ROM Construction Cost Estimate to assist with validating Raytheon’s budget as they proceeded with the gate review and capital authorization process. This effort included evaluating the current physical status of the space and identifying all field conditions that might impact cost or schedule. Raytheon sought feedback to ensure industry best practices were applied to the Phase II expansion and to eliminate potential risks associated with the current environment.

The project consisted of four buildings, warm core and shell, with labs, 7,000 SF data center with server load and UPS 1,500 kW, amenities building, fitness center, cafeteria, office space, meeting areas and a parking garage.
