PROJECT EXPERIENCE

*N7K – VIVARIUM, Fremont, CA Neuralink is investigating the development of a brain-machine interface (BMI). Design team project manager and lead engineer to retrofit approximately 10,000 SF into a ABLS2 equivalent vivarium for the purpose of BMI research using non-human primates and other large animals as the test subjects. Design HVAC system to maintain ventilation rate, pressurization scheme, temperature, and humidity. Specialty design for surgery suites, CT scan room, and animal holding rooms. Design plumbing and process piping, and medical grade gas systems to support the required uses and provide required cleanliness level in utilities and in spaces. For same facility provided peer review consulting related to the on-site medical device nanofabrication cleanroom and designed new liquid nitrogen and compressed air systems. *SYNTHEGO - GMP OLIGO PRODUCTION SUITES - PROCESS PIPING, Redwood City, CA 15,000 SF cGMP lab retrofit for Oligo Production Suites. Project engineering assistance and QA/QC EOR involvement with process piping scope of work including CDA, PVAC, and PN2, and solvent supply, distribution, and waste collection. *NANOSYN - LAB PLANNING, SANTA CLARA, CA Nanosyn is a custom synthesis formulation lab with many thousands of compounds brought to the site for use as needed. Provided lab Planning, MEP, and Hazmat consulting for a general contractor to help guide the decision on whether Nanosyn would continue with their lease negotiations for a facility in Santa Clara that had recently gutted by Landlord. Site evaluation of remaining infrastructure, feasibility study, preliminary phased concept drawings, and support for the construction cost fees estimating. Provided recommendations for walk in fume hoods, performed energy/cost tradeoff evaluation of option for energy saving variable air volume hoods, reviewed chemical quantities for occupancy, HVAC system preliminary sizing, liquid nitrogen dowers, hydrogen, compressed air, DI water from Milli-Q, general plumbing, and lab wastewater local collection system. *GSK PHARMACEUTICALS - QUALITY CONTROL LAB IMPROVEMENTS, Memphis, TN Retrofits of quality control labs including microbiology, stability chamber, and clean lab spaces. Provided design of HVAC, heat extraction hoods, dust collection, plumbing, and process piping systems for a cGMP tableting facility. *VARIAN - CLEANROOM CONSULTING AND PEER REVIEW, Texas Cleanroom Consulting: Peer review of design for a parenteral drug cleanroom.
