AlfaTech is providing mechanical and plumbing engineering design services for the renovation of the existing aquatics center at John Anson Ford Park and create a regional aquatics center to be known as the "Ford Park Regional Aquatics Center". Project consists of replacing an existing empty and inoperable pool with a new fifty- (50) meter pool and an additional therapeutic pool. The new pool is approximately 13,448 SF with nine (9) lanes, a warm-up area, and a waterslide. A handicap accessible lift is proposed on the north side of the pool along with a lifeguard chair. The facility will have a series of bleachers with storage compartments underneath. The therapy pool is approximately 2,466 SF. The existing deteriorating restrooms, changing areas and office area are also replaced with new facilities including a new locker and shower facilities, 1,000 SF weight room and multi-purpose room for training.
