Type: Data Center, Mixed Use Size : 1,750,000+ SF

AlfaTech was hired to provide recommendations on current data center trends and technologies for incorporation into a new data center facility development in Northern China. The Tier 3 level data center was designed to accommodate six 2-MW critical load modules plus redundancy, for a total of 12 MW critical load.

AlfaTech provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineering services as well as technology design for several projects totaling over 1.75m SF for this client. These projects included campuses, tech and data center evaluations, TI’s, feasibility studies, computer room upgrades and retail branches, at locations across the country. The newest retail branch location achieved LEED Gold certification for its sustainable features such as PV as a renewable energy source, low-flow water fixtures, and low-VOC finishes.

The goal was for a highly energy efficient data center with an annualized PUE of 1.4 or less. The estimated total load for the facility is 16.8 MW.

As a result of AlfaTech led workshops, a basis of design and schematic level design documentation was created to serve as the guidelines for the local design and development team.

Type: Office, Computer Room and Corporate Data Center Size: Roseville: 200,000 SF with 40,000 SF data center; San Francisco: 500,000 SF with 100,000 SF data center AlfaTech was awarded the A/E prime contract for work at the Northern California Operational Center in San Francisco. The contract includes on-call services to handle immediate design needs, as well as the establishment of facilities standards and project management services. The firm also redesigned every floor of this multi-story data center due to program changes. The Roseville project required a 40,000 SF raised floor computer room. This 24” raised floor data center was 7/24 operational with an N+I fully redundant system which include UPS and generator back-up. Project Highlights for San Francisco facility included an engineering analysis to develop projected PG&E Power Savings for energy retrofit of the NCOC.

AlfaTech served Exodus (aka Cable & Wireless) in several projects worldwide providing project management, architecture, and engineering design including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services developing corporate data center design standards and implementing detailed designs for well over 2 million SF of data center facilities both nationally and internationally. These projects are 7/24 fully redundant raised floor data centers with complete UPS and generator backup systems. All projects consist of approximately 80% raised floor and 20% support facilities.
