PROJECT EXPERIENCE

*KAISER FONTANA MEDICAL CENTER, Fontana, CA Plumbing engineering design services for the 490,000 SF hospital project, with more than 300 beds, and 60,000 SF HSB, as well as 35,000 SF central plant. The construction cost for this project was $435 million. The plumbing scope comprised of nitrogen storage facility along with design of medical gasses, water, waste and vent systems for operating rooms, exam rooms, patient rooms, etc. The medical building is OSHPD1/HCAi1. *KAISER LOS ANGELES MEDICAL CENTER, Los Angeles, CA Plumbing engineering design services for the Kaiser building in Los Angeles, CA. Services included the new hospital buildings of stage 1 and stage 2 expansion. The medical building is OSHPD1/HCAi1. *GLENDALE ADVENTIST MEDICAL CENTER, Glendale, CA Plumbing Engineer for this project which consisted of tenant improvements West Tower III. The plumbing scope consisted of extensive alterations to the existing water, waste, vent and medical gas systems, approximately 45,000 SF. The medical building is OSHPD1/HCAi1. *CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, Los Angeles, CA Plumbing Engineer of a 900,000 SF project with more than 400 Beds and a construction cost of $240 million located in Los Angeles, CA. The plumbing scope comprised of nitrogen storage facility along with design of medical gasses, water, waste and vent systems for operating rooms, exam rooms, patient rooms, etc. The medical building is OSHPD1/HCAi1. *THE QUEEN’S MEDICAL CENTER, West Oahu, Ewa Beach, HI Plumbing Engineer for the design of plumbing systems and utilities for a 5 story 103,700 SF of medical center renovation project including 4-operating rooms and 2-procedure rooms, emergency department, and MRI rooms. *NORTHEAST VALLEY HEALTH CORPORATION, San Fernando, CA Lead Plumbing Engineer for the design of a 2-story ground-up medical office building. 650 RAYMOND AVENUE, Medical Office Building, Pasadena, CA Plumbing Engineer for core and shell MEP systems to support the new 4-story mixed-use facility and its 5-level underground parking structure (4 parking, 1 surgical center). Programing includes 32,000 SF of medical space for Specialty Practice, Internal Medicine and Family Practice, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Lab, Imaging, and Central Scheduling and administrative offices as well as 3,331 SF of retail space. The MEP systems are designed to Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), formerly OSHPD3 standards, and 3,331 SF of retail space is supported with a VRF system.

Kyu has extensive experience in Mechanical and Plumbing department from design development through construction documents. He has worked on a number of different projects which include healthcare facilities, hospitality, K-12 schools, Higher Education & Civic projects. Responsibilities include setting-up project drawings, plumbing system design & piping system layouts, and assisting engineers in design development. Kyu is very knowledgeable in plumbing design (domestic water system, sanitary and storm drainage systems, natural and medical gas systems) and AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Word & Excel.
