The purpose of this FPP was to review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to determine the condition of existing equipment, code deficiencies, and recommend upgrades. A walk-through of the building was conducted and then we discussed the building systems with maintenance personnel and obtained available record drawings of the building systems. Built in 1963, the Fine Arts Building houses classrooms, a large dance room, photography darkrooms and classrooms, pottery and ceramics areas, as well as some administrative areas. The building is approximately 40,000 SF all located on a single level. The somewhat unique shape consists of a central core and four distinct wings. Most of the engineered systems within the building were original and over forty years old. The recommended changes to deficiencies were projected to cost approximately $3,000,000.
