FEATURED SAN DIEGO PROJECT

FEATURED SAN JOSE PROJECT

Superstar Car Wash Wildomar, CA

The Carlysle San Jose, CA

AlfaTech provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design services to accommodate the complete renovation of an existing 120-foot, manual carwash connected to an existing convenience store and Jiffy Lube retail store, on a 1.43-acre site, converting the existing manual car wash into a fully-automated 4,600 SF car wash. All existing carwash equipment, plumbing, and electrical distribution systems were removed and replaced with new special plumbing and electrical distribution systems for carwash equipment in both the tunnel and the equipment rooms, including three (3) new pay stations and twenty-six (26) new vacuum stations, exterior site lighting, Title-24 calculations, and lighting controls.

The project is an entirely new 21-story high rise / mixed-use, plus mechanical penthouse. Space planning includes residential, office, warm shell retail/restaurant, amenities, parking within building structure, outdoor private/common space, circulation, and BOH. Along with the building, space planning will be the MEP infrastructure included in the core. The building is located on the north side of Carlysle Street between Almaden Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue, San Jose, CA with approximately 558,097 SF of gross area building space plus outdoor private/common space.

SCIENTISTS DREAM ABOUT DOING GREAT THINGS. ENGINEERS DO THEM.

Uber Mission Bay 1 & 2 – Atria “The vibrant atria system of Uber Mission Bay 1+2 is supported with passive HVAC: mainly fan-assisted natural ventilation and radiant floors. This is truly a living apparatus, carefully zoned with regards to wind pressure and heat addition or extraction at different atria floors. As an unconditioned space (per code) with certain occupancy and equipment use, a substantial effort went into the pre-application with the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection. Stark limitations were in force for heating/cooling capacities. The eventual compliance pathway with ASHRAE 55 Adaptive Thermal Comfort set a precedent for this type of space, which then enabled translucency in exceedance of expectations.” -Erik Elmtoft, PE, PMP, LEEDAP, WELL AP
