AlfaTech has been engaged by Hudson Pacific Properties (HPP) and EYRC Architects to upgrade the existing electrical infrastructure, from a single 2.4kV electrical service to two (2)-7.5MVA, 5kV Electrical Services to support the existing production offices and stages and the new proposed masterplan buildings. As part of our scope of work, we have surveyed the site’s existing electrical infrastructure to develop an as built single line diagram, developed load calculations of the existing production offices and stages along with the loads of the new proposed masterplan building to develop a submittal package to Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) for utility coordination which is currently in progress. As part of the masterplan, it will include the construction of the following new buildings: • Two New Stages In addition, we are currently designing the power distribution downstream of the 5kV utility services to have the main services at each stage and/or production office localized to the building in lieu of the existing Power House #1 & 2, respectively. Some of the features that we are incorporating in our design will provide some flexibility and redundancy. We are proposing a dual-input source dry-type transformer, that will accept either 2.4kV / 5kV, primary-selector switch at the Load Interrupter Switch (LIS), and cam-locks at the main service that will allow plug-in for a roll-up generator. Some of the challenges that we are currently facing is how to back-feed the existing electrical infrastructure (Power House #1 & #2, respectively) that is existing in place at 2.4kV when the new 5kV service is fully constructed. • 10 -Story Production Office • Mixed -use Parking Structure
